A drawback to fracking is that this method for drilling for natural gas has sometimes been associated with earthquakes.

The problem, however, is not necessarily as great as the illustration on the right may suggest. There is reassurance from an article in Scientific American:

Wind and solar may appear to be more acceptable sources of energy, but the magnitudes of the taxpayer-funded subsidies that they commonly require may be, in effect, well hidden.
